Enlist in the army of Novorossiya. The story of a Crimean volunteer from the lips of his wife

How and where to join the people's militia of New Russia? How much do they pay for it?

The civil bloodshed in Ukraine does not leave anyone indifferent around the world. Among the Russians there are many volunteers who are ready to fight alongside the Novorossiya militias and even give their lives in the fight against Ukrainian fascism. How you can join the ranks of the militia of Donbass will be discussed further.

There are two ways for volunteers to join the DPR militia.

First way. In the summer of 2014, a recruiting office of the people's militia of Donbass was opened in Moscow. The organization helps volunteers from Russia join the Novorossiya militia. What needs to be done for this? First of all, you need to contact the representative of the people's military registration and enlistment office via skype or e-mail.

E-mail: [email protected].

The appeal must indicate the full name, age, education, field of activity. The organizers of the military registration and enlistment office pay special attention to the following point: a letter must be sent only from your mailbox, and not from instant messengers, otherwise the answer will not reach the addressee. Next, you need to wait for an approving response from the representative of the militia, and only then it will be possible to move forward. Initially, you need to get to Rostov-on-Don on your own, and already there a representative of the militia will get in touch with you, he will help you cross the border and get to Donetsk.

The military registration and enlistment office of the NOD (DPR) is recruiting for the First Slavic Brigade:

We asked him why he went, who the militias are, how they fight, and how it will all end.

How did you get into the war?

- Why did you go?

Tired of watching TV, pushing through the sofa and feeling sorry for everyone. I decided that I could be useful, and went.

- Wasn't it scary?

How was it not? Of course it's scary.

- But it's very stupid - like this to die.

And is it smart?

- Do you have any relatives in those parts?

No, nobody. It's just that there are Russian people, they speak and think in Russian. And they are forced ... not to do this. I thought this: if I can, I should help.

- And how did you get in touch with the militias?

On the Internet, type: "Russian volunteers." There are people who help to get there. I wrote to them and got a reply. I filled out a questionnaire: age, education, criminal record, connection with radical organizations. And after about a week the issue was resolved. I bought tickets, equipment and went.

- In terms of? Myself?

Of course, volunteers are not paid. So there everyone fights as best they can. You can wear sweatpants, or you can be equipped like an American paratrooper. I bought a regular camouflage suit.

- Where should you have arrived?

In the city of Donetsk, Rostov region. You arrive, call the agreed number, call your callsign, hear the feedback. A person comes and transports you across the border, no problem (entry to Ukraine for Russian men under 60 is prohibited. - Ed.). We got to the base, from there we were dismantled by the unit commanders.

- Are they military?

Yes, what military. Same militias. They told me: “Do you want to serve in the reconnaissance company?” I answer: “What kind of scout am I?” They say to me: "Come on, let's go and have a look." True, the company turned out to be a reconnaissance platoon.

How to fight?

- Brought - and what?

And fight. There are no training centers there, no special training, no course for a young fighter. Yesterday's workers, teachers, miners, drivers from Donetsk, Gorlovka are fighting. For 80 people, we had one professional military man, and that ensign. They gave me a carbine. So I became a spy.

- What does it mean in practice?

You see, this is not the kind of war that they show - with battles, advances and retreats. This war (like any, probably) is 95% rough work: you have to go to posts, to outfits, to reconnaissance, to be an observer. For example, we are told: in that direction there is a certain enemy group and equipment. We need to check if this is the case. At night, people get up and go into the forest, studying the tracks.

- Does it look like the game "Zarnitsa"?

This is a terrible game. You go at night through the territory controlled by the enemy. The trail may be mined, and ours were blown up. They can shoot from these or those bushes. An ambush is possible behind the trees. The tension is really terrible. There were even cases when two reconnaissance militias went to the same place at night and fired at each other, mistaking for the enemy. They simply did not coordinate their actions, there is such a mess. So the main thing in the war is a routine: from outfit to outfit, you do not have time to eat or sleep.

- Outfit is peeling potatoes?

The outfit is "sit on the button", for example. What does it mean? The road is mined, and we know that a Ukrainian tank or some heavy equipment will drive along it. Your task is to sit, wait and connect the wires at the right time to blow up the car.

- Wiring? Like in 1941?

Yes, that's right, the old fashioned way. You can’t press a button from a phone, because Ukrainians jam electronic signals. I sat and waited like this several times. Luckily, I never waited.

- Fortunately?

Yes, because many of these assignments do not return.

- The car explodes there, far away?

Not so far - a hundred meters. You have to see what is going there, make sure that the enemy, that he ran into a mine. Okay, if it's a tank. And if the Grad multiple launch rocket system, it scatters for half a kilometer and covers anyone who is sitting there. I was lucky that I did not wait for anyone while I sat in the pit for 15 hours.

- Wow. Did you sit still?

Well, how about. You can't disguise. No toilet, no leaning out, no phone call.

Who is in charge?

- Are there many volunteers from Russia?

Out of 80 people, we had four Russians: a former sports functionary, a cabinet maker, a teacher, and me, a journalist. There was another guy from Novosibirsk, he found a bottle of vodka, got drunk, and was kicked out.

- Can't you drink?

Of course not. For this, they can be shot.

- For a bottle of vodka?

There were cases - shot. There is a dry law, and rightly so, everyone agrees with this. Otherwise, everyone would have shot each other a long time ago.

- And you poured a hundred grams before the fight?

Of course not.

- Come on.

You know, there are even without a hundred grams ... Half of the losses are from the fact that their own cripple their own. Well, they don't know how to handle weapons! Here is a mortar, who was a driver or a salesman, he took this mortar for the first time in his life, put two mines into the barrel - the gun tore apart and destroyed the entire crew. Or another guy forgot to unload the machine gun, in which the cartridge remained, pressed at an unnecessary moment ... There are a lot of such losses.

- And who commands the militias?

This is a mystery to me too. They fight like partisans. I arrived in July, and it was wild for me that they had not been smashed so far, because there was zero coordination. Each village has its own detachment headed by its own ataman, who obeys few people. This is such a war. Night raids, raids on a column, on a checkpoint - they shot, they captured something, that's success.

- But who determines the strategy?

Maybe. Now the detachments are uniting into brigades, commanders are appearing, weapons are being brought in.

- Where is the weapon from?

From warehouses.

- From what?

I don't know. I admit that these are warehouses of the Russian army, the Soviet army, the Ukrainian army.

- And what time weapons?

My first carbine - 1954. I saw people fighting with an anti-tank rifle that has the year 1943 stamped on it. After the carbine, they gave me a sniper rifle without an optical sight. Terribly uncomfortable when you have to climb on the green. There are such forests - just thickets, you cut into them - and that's it, you got up, you can't move either to the right or to the left. Some kind of jungle, did not expect from Ukraine. And most importantly - everything is prickly! Then they issued a machine gun, it is more convenient with it. Recently, weapons have become normal. It began to arrive brand new, in lubrication.

- Our help?

Well, how else to explain? Not the Americans. But everything else is still bad. That's basic food. People leave in the morning for fasting - slurp borscht without meat. At lunch they will warm up the same borscht, and in the evening it will be the same.

- And who delivers the products?

They take it from the warehouse, and the warehouse is replenished at the expense of humanitarian aid. And there, first, as I suspect, rear services are provided, and then it comes to those who are at war. The local population is trying to help, of course, they bring potatoes, pickles, but what are two jars of pickles and even a bag of potatoes for 80 people? Weakly and with clothing contentment.

- You've equipped yourself.

I myself, I'm from Russia. And 95% are locals, they have been fighting for a long time, they retreated many times, they lost all their things. Their clothes are what they are wearing, and that's it. They wash it like this: they entered in clothes in rates (this is their pond), went out, soaped themselves - and dived again. He bathed himself and washed his clothes. Thankfully it's warm in August. And if you are in an outfit "on the button" - you are sleeping on the bare ground, sitting motionless, there are not even tourist foams. We need sleeping bags, warm jackets... I came home with the idea of collecting such a humanitarian cargo. I know exactly what is needed. I want to help my specific unit - so that it comes directly into their hands, targeted.

Continuation - in the next issue of AiF-Chelyabinsk and on the site site

Our interlocutor is a citizen of Russia, with experience of service in hot spots - Afghanistan, Chechnya.

He served in Donbass for 9 months. I visited a meat grinder near Debaltseve and participated in other battles. Now, returning home, he says that he will return to the Donbass again. He'll rest and come back.

When asked how to get into the militia, he grins slyly, and then, nevertheless, tells.

According to him, how to get to the DPR as a volunteer from Russia is not a problem.

He, after serving in the Russian army, worked as a military instructor at a school, and then moved to a security agency - a matter of money.

Volunteers of Donbass from Russia

He decided to go to the Donbass as a volunteer after his fighting friend went there. “The call of conscience,” says the interlocutor.

I doubted at first. But then I looked at the news, read messages on social networks and finally decided for myself to go to Donbass as a volunteer.

The family (his wife does not work, sits with a young son, and the eldest daughter has already gone to first grade this fall) was against it.

But as the interlocutor says, the word of a man is the law.

How to get to the DPR as a volunteer from Russia

By the way, volunteers from Russia to the DPR are not uncommon. According to him, it was not difficult to find options to go to war.

Those who have military specialties are searched through the military registration and enlistment offices and make offers themselves.

You can also recruit through veteran organizations. He, in particular, went to the “Afghans”, where he was told how to become a volunteer in the DPR.

They do not take everyone - they pre-check. Because there are cases when supposedly "volunteers" turn out to be criminal elements who want to escape justice in Russia. And there are just homeless people who believe that they will be more satisfying in the Donbass. Of course, these are of little use. Therefore, the selection of applicants is quite tough.

How much do Donbass militias from Russia get paid

“The pay is not that much, but quite well. For some, the amount of 60,000 rubles is generally the height of dreams. But it all depends on qualifications. They also pay 80-90,000. And the commanders get much more, - said the source, - the VUS 107, 106, intelligence, sabotage specialties are very needed. This pays well. Those who came through Afghan organizations or from brotherhoods of internationalist warriors are also not offended. But for an ordinary fighter, without special skills - a maximum of 60,000 rubles.

He also He said that additional payments are provided in special cases.

“They pay 120-360,000 rubles for a wound, depending on the severity. There are guys in general who become disabled. And the families of the dead are paid about 350-400,000 for the funeral.”

But money is paid only if the recruited Russian fighter serves as part of his unit.

Also, as the fighter said, volunteers get into the Donbas militia through the Cossacks, which closely cooperates with the FSB. But he does not know the details, because. got into the militia of Donbass in a different way.

But I also had an interview with the FSB officers. Then he was sent to Rostov. Already met there. The cost of the ticket was compensated and "lifting" was paid, "well, in order to buy cigarettes there for the first time, maybe something else is needed to organize life."

“The money for the ticket is not paid in advance. Because there can be scams. For example, a recruiter recruited a group of 100 people, received money for a ticket for each, but did not send anyone anywhere. Here's a couple of lemons of real money for you. Therefore, they give the money personally into their hands, and not through recruiters, already when they arrive at the place, ”the fighter said.

“If he went to the combat commanders of the DPR or LPR, there are other alignments. Yes, and there may be trouble, as you may be declared a mercenary.

To the question - and if you serve in your unit - you are not considered a mercenary, the interlocutor scratches his head: “God only knows. Like - no. They say that the Ministry of Defense is now developing contracts for us, as for civilian specialists. Everything seems to be legal.”

How are the serviceVolunteers in the militia of Donbass

The presence of documents with you is a must - a passport, a military ID ... but upon arrival, all this had to be handed over. Under description.

“So that in which case it would be difficult to prove that you are from Russia. Although there are copies that I immediately post everything myself - who, what, why, where he served, where he came from, what tasks he performed. Even regular military being captured by this sin. But we have a school behind us, this doesn’t work with us, ”says the guest.

For the most part, no one knows each other's real names - everyone is assigned a call sign and even roll call at formation is carried out by call sign.

“Two guys served with me, whom I know from Afghanistan. And I don’t know the rest by their names - only call signs.

Settled the newcomers at first at the recreation center, and when there were already enough people, they were sent to the training ground. Everything is the same as in ordinary military units - formations, drill, physical training.

“They mainly give FIZO (physical training), MPD (mine-blasting), TSP (tactical-special training) and topography. Well, they can give a little more military medical affairs. But it's not everywhere. At first, there were no weapons. And in general, everything depends on the commander. We, the Afghans, had order. And sometimes there is such a mess that many fled back home. They say in the LPR in some units - in general, a mess, many went to the militias in the units. Not very legal - but what if you're already here. But many people never saw the money there. So they got out as best they could, ”the military man tells the story.

“Then weapons and equipment are already issued. And everything is excellent, new, modern. Well, I served in the army for more than one year - I have not seen this. Everything is for yourself!” - smiles.

war casualties

But, according to him, the organization is not perfect. Few trained, inexperienced fighters are put on tanks, sent to artillery.

“After a week of training, they say - that's it, you are a tanker! It's not normal! Guys are completely inexperienced! Here are the victims. On the other hand, war is war. It is necessary to carry out combat missions, but there are not enough specialists! That is why the military registration and enlistment offices are looking for them, they go from house to house, they persuade them, they promise mountains of gold, ”the story continues.

There is a training ground on the border, the interlocutor does not say where they returned after completing the task. There, in his words, militia detachments came to reform.

“Well, consider there are no borders - so, conditionally. Go all and sundry, back and forth. And the locals roam. And deserters (there were also those) calmly crossed the border through the bushes, ”says the interlocutor.

According to the military, the losses are quite large, “but since our president declared this information secret, I won’t say anything either. I can only say that fewer people died in Chechnya ... "

According to him, losses largely depend on the commander. “If normal, then he tries to take out 300 and 220 from the battlefield. And there are those that just a little - they run ahead of everyone. And they throw them away. Not even mortally wounded,” says the fighter.

“The bodies of the dead are taken across the border, and an escort is assigned to them, who takes the body to relatives. This is right. And the wounded are usually taken to the Rostov region,” he said.

I'll come back!

When asked why he is going home now - on a planned vacation or the business trip has ended, the interlocutor replies “Tired. From death, from chaos, injustice. From everything".

But, nevertheless, he intends to return.

“I’ll rest a little, see my family - and back. I'm a soldier. And here they kill our brothers. So I have to be here,” he sums up.

Well, have a nice holiday and good luck.

The interlocutor wished to remain anonymous.

Russia imposed an unusual war on Ukraine, some obscure personalities are fighting under the flags of the Russian Federation, calling themselves militias. It is difficult to understand the course of hostilities if you do not know some of the secrets of this "militia". We have tried to put together all the information about the terrorists, even that which is not available in either Russian or Ukrainian media.

How to become militants

Contract for terrorism

Mercenaries going to Donbass sign time-limited contracts. At the very beginning, when the military registration and enlistment offices of the Russian Federation had not yet entered the work, there were even weekly contracts. They say, go for a week, take a look, then, if everything is fine, stay again.

But most contracts are designed for a period of one to three months. It is quite difficult to drive groups across the border; frequent changes in the composition of units have a bad effect on morale. But rotation is necessary, otherwise desertion begins. It is clear that those units that are in clashes cannot rotate. As well as the units located in the surrounded cities (now this is actually Gorlovka).

Callsign Motorola. Yesterday with a flag on the front line, and today with a cocktail on the beach in Yalta.

The overwhelming majority of terrorists return to the ATO zone after a short rest. The militants are offered a paid vacation in the Crimea, so that they would not have the thought of returning home. The second or third trip to the war raises the status of a fighter, he is already considered an "experienced veteran."

Permanent composition

There is also a permanent composition in militant groups, which has not changed since the beginning of hostilities. These are commanders, military specialists from the GRU General Staff or the FSB (they operate under cover, even the terrorists themselves do not know even half of the military experts from the Russian Federation), socially unsettled elements (there is no home, family work in the Russian Federation), criminals who are wanted on the territory of the Russian Federation.

commanders

Commanders of militant units have completely different contracts. They receive their salary on an offshore account, they have all the conditions for retreat. When Mozgovoy got too carried away with banditry and decided to overthrow Bolotov, giving all power in the Luhansk region to Efremov from the Party of Regions, he was urgently summoned to Moscow and reforged.

There he was told that a multi-million dollar account somewhere in the Antilles, coupled with an offshore passport that gives you the right to visa-free entry to almost any country in the world, is much better than the small cash that can be squeezed from the local rich or received from parties of the regions.

How much is one terrorist

The magic formula of "one hundred dollars a day" formed the basis for hiring militants. For the majority of the population of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, such a salary was a pipe dream of a lifetime. It is clear that a good specialist knows his worth, so more expensive contracts will be uploaded. Most of the "high quality" militias sold out for amounts ranging from 100 to 300 units of US currency per day.

Due to the complicated financing schemes, there are no exact rates. A militant's salary can be 20, 50, 100, or 200 dollars a day, simply depending on which group he got into, who hired him, for how long he agreed.

Terrorism treaty guarantees

From the very beginning of the war, the main rule was established - no guarantees. The war is secret, no one should ever find evidence of the direct participation of the Russian Federation. Therefore, no papers are given to the militant, although he signs a whole package of documents.

The command takes care of the leisure of the fighters

Here is a non-disclosure obligation, and a waiver of claims, and some other documents that later allow in court to assert that he was not in the Donbass at that time, but somewhere in the Arctic Circle, was extracting oil or washing gold on Kolyma. There he died, the bears ate, left nothing.

And it is also convenient for the employer - the main payment occurs after the execution of the contract. A “DPR militiaman” died and nothing needs to be paid. Those who send militants to the east of Ukraine are most interested in their physical destruction.

Cashiers from the FSB or other government organizations involved in the payment of salaries and bonuses, if the terrorist does not return, can keep at least part of his fee for themselves. Yes, even if a fighter returns from the front, part of his salary can be squeezed - after all, what will he prove? What did he fight in the east?

Therefore, the entire giant machine involved in the supply of militants and weapons to the east of Ukraine is extremely interested in the endless continuation of the conflict. The war allows people from the FSB and the Moscow Region to cut huge financial flows, which in peacetime go to all sorts of Olympics.

Three terrorist tankers

Labor disputes in terrorist organizations

Russian customers are used to not paying extra for work. Therefore, many terrorists, once in a war zone, learn that $ 100 is a salary for a day of fighting, and since there is no fight now, for that day he will receive significantly less or nothing at all.

There are other labor disputes. Indeed, after some time of the existence of a detachment of militants, it turns out that its members receive very different salaries. Okay, when some local is fighting for a pittance. And when Omsk or Petersburgers meet, recruited by different organizations, and in a personal conversation they find out that their salary is very different.

To settle disputes and raise morale, advance payments are made in all units. Militants from time to time tossed a little cash. There is another reason - the command is fighting in every possible way in looting, undermining the faith of the local population in all sorts of DPR and LPR.

Premium payouts

Only highly qualified specialists have stable and high bonuses - snipers, artillery computers, tank shooters, anti-aircraft gunners. They do not have a very high salary (the same $100 a day or less), but a serious bonus for a killed Ukrainian soldier/armored vehicle/captured height.

But even here there are very different cases. Not all snipers receive bonuses. Some of them work for a “bare salary”, while locals may not receive a salary at all.

In some situations, a premium is also set for ordinary fighters. Take the height - get 200 each or hold the position for a few more days. Lately, when the Ukrainian army is wedged deeper and deeper into the territory of the so-called “Novorossiya”, commanders have to offer and pay bonuses more and more often.

Division of terrorists

Simple fighters are divided into three main types - "meat", "fighters", "specialists". This is our terminology, different recruiters use different words to refer to these types, but they all divide their contingent in this way.

"Specialists"

This category includes those who have a military specialty, no matter which one. Russian troops fighting in the east of Ukraine under the flags of various DPR, LPR, Novorossiya, and so on, are in dire need of qualified military personnel. With the development of science and technology, all weapons have become more complex, in order to effectively manage them, months, if not years, of preparation are needed.

Tank drivers and gunners, artillery computers and snipers, miners and sappers - these people need to be trained from several months to six months. But this is only if the “student” has basic knowledge (mathematics, physics, chemistry and other sciences) and a sufficient level of intelligence.

Of course, it is possible to train an artillery gunner according to an accelerated program, taking the first “resident of Donbass” who comes across who can count to more than one hundred. But in this case, one should not be surprised if the projectile hits a little in the wrong place, only a couple of kilometers deviating from the target.

Problem positions

But the greatest value is not even tankers with artillerymen, but signalmen and commanders. This is not the Second World War, when the presence of one walkie-talkie per company was considered normal, now it is necessary to link the actions of armored vehicles and infantry, artillery and air defense (if we are talking about militants).

If you distribute walkie-talkies to all the fighters, then defeat is inevitable - they will fill the air with screams and obscenities, shouting over each other. Therefore, it is necessary not only to distribute walkie-talkies, it is also necessary to divide frequencies and channels, establish the order of communication and determine call signs. Moreover, all this must be done in such a way that the enemy listening to the air can extract as little information from it as possible.

And then there is electronic warfare (electronic warfare), radio reconnaissance and many, many other actions that require not only expensive powerful equipment, but also professionals who know how to use it.

Comrade commanders

The main problem of terrorists is an acute shortage of junior officers. They have enough commanders of battalion groups, such as Leshy or Boatswain. But we still need platoon commanders with the rank of lieutenant and company commanders with the rank of captain. And with this problem.

Every Russian officer who came to fight in the Donbas wants to be the most important in the detachment, no one wants to become a junior commander. And there are not so many officers themselves. Pay attention, the war has been going on for almost half a year, and everyone has these armies still do not have any officer epaulettes or officer ranks.

They even managed to figure out the medal, the banners were sewn, and with epaulettes it was tight. And this despite the fact that Girkin-Strelkov fancies himself a White Guard officer. Watch interviews with militants on their channels, you won't find a single junior officer there. There is a detachment commander, maybe even a chief of staff, and a platoon or company commander is a rarity.

"Militants"

This category includes those recruits who have already taken part in hostilities. A soldier can be driven around training grounds and training classes for years, he can be given a carload of shells and cartridges for target shooting. But nothing can replace his school, in which bullets and mines whistle over his head and can kill.

Neither the "three orders out of turn", nor the garrison guardhouse, nor even the disciplinary battalion, have such a pedagogical effect as a bullet or a fragment. Therefore, when recruitment, participation in hostilities is valued higher than long-term contract service.

This category has one more remarkable property. "Militants" can easily torture and kill people. The sight of blood and the screams of the victim no longer arouse such disgust in them, they had already seen and heard it in the previous war.

Terrorists are not born, terrorists are made

But if combat experience has already been acquired during the conflict in eastern Ukraine, then the fighter should not count on a serious increase in the contract. If you fought in Chechnya or Georgia, they will immediately offer you, say, $300. But if you "passed Slavyansk", then you can rejoice if your salary rises from $100 to $120.

"Meat"

It doesn’t matter whether you serve or not, whether you can disassemble a Kalashnikov in 30 seconds or not, if you don’t fit the first two categories, you will be cannon fodder. This is the most massive category, it includes the majority of those recruited both on the territory of the Russian Federation and in Ukraine.

It is clear that such fighters receive the lowest salary. It is clear that no one takes care of them. Sometimes the "militia" trains them, but in most cases they are given only basic skills - how to load and clean a machine gun, how to use a grenade, how to aim and shoot.

Squad recruitment

The first experience of combat clashes showed that any terrorist squad must have fighters of all three categories. If the detachment is staffed only with "militants" and "specialists", it is suitable for conducting complex military operations. Experienced and intelligent people will not go on the attack unless they are completely sure of victory. They will not hold any line if the enemy outnumbers them and there is no provision for a withdrawal.

Therefore, military specialists from the Russian Federation have deduced such a formula for an “ideal battalion group” (terrorist detachment) - 60-70% of “meat”, 30-25% of “militants” and 5-10% of “specialists”. This is exactly how they are trying to staff the detachments of all these Bezlers, Girkins, Leshihs, and Mozgovs.

The work of recruiters

This is how “orders” are made for recruiters, no matter who they are - employees of the military registration and enlistment offices in the Russian Federation, Crimean self-defense or agents on the territory of Ukraine. The only exception is "specialists". Due to the acute shortage of people in this category, they are paid many times more and accepted in any quantity.

Some terrorists take painkillers before the fight even starts.

The reasons for the shortage are very simple - those who can organize communications at the battalion level or are able to calculate a ballistic trajectory in seconds have a high enough level of intelligence to understand all the stupidity and futility of this war. These people, in most cases, are well settled in life, they have families and jobs, they have no reason to go to war for some ephemeral republics.
