Under the close supervision of trainers and nutritionists, participants will have to go through physical tests, diets, temptations and weighings. They will have high-quality sports equipment at their disposal. But it depends only on the participants how they do and what they eat in the absence of coaches! At the end of each week, the teams are weighed, which will determine the total weight lost. The team that lost the least weight must vote to determine which of the participants will go home, as they did not give the team a chance to win. The winner will be the participant who lost the most weight during the project

Ukrainian television in September 2014 delighted its viewers with the release of the fourth season of "Weighted and Happy". "Zvazhenі i schaslivі" is a popular competitive TV show, which involves overweight people from all over Ukraine.

Many of you may already be familiar with the American progenitor of this kind of TV show, The Biggest Looser. The bottom line is that participants who are overweight, in the format of reality, get rid of extra pounds and fight for the main money prize. Of course, they cannot do without the help of professional trainers. In "Zvazhenі ta schaslivі" as fitness mentors are:

  • Anita Lutsenko is a purposeful and bright, silver European champion and a master in sports aerobics. Anita does not give her trainees a single minute of rest if she sees that they are able to continue training;
  • Vyacheslav Uzelkov — famous boxer, which inspires participants with its sports results and does everything possible to achieve the main task - reducing the weight of its wards;
  • Vasily Virastyuk - "The most strong man Ukraine" in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005;

The host of the TV show, the famous Ukrainian coach Miroslava Ulyanina, morally supports the participants. She herself faced the problem of excess weight, but pulling herself together, through debilitating diets, she brought herself to the point that she weighed 38 kilograms ..

Every Thursday, viewers watch the training of three teams, after which the participants perform the program of the competition. Whoever copes with the task the worst of all leaves the project and continues to get rid of excess weight on their own. And of course - where without weekly weighings!

Last year, 8 couples took part in the show. Recall that in the sixth season, the winner was the 28-year-old former athlete and champion of Ukraine in kickboxing Arkady Vasylyshyn, who threw off 132 kilograms.

On August 30, 2018, the 8th season of the show "Weighted and Happy" started on the STB channel. This season promises to be the most difficult in every sense of the word. In the eighth season, the host of the show changed. Vyacheslav Uzelkov and his wife Marina Borzhemska-Uzelkova remained as coaches, but the strongest of the Ukrainians, Vasily Virastyuk, joined them. And Miroslava Ulyanina appeared in the role of a new presenter before the viewers.

The show Weighted and happy thundered throughout the CIS. Despite no longer new format programs, each release attracts thousands to the TV screens! The main purpose of the whole action is to show people what healthy lifestyle life and how it works, what can be done with excess weight. "Weighted and happy" at home

The meaning is as follows: a group of people who are very overweight (from 92 to 213 in last season), which is located at the sports base for several months. Professional trainers, nutritionists and a psychologist work with the participants. In addition, they participate in various competitions, where victory or defeat makes staying on the project easier or harder, respectively.

Once a week, a weigh-in takes place, and one of the participants who have lost the least weight is eliminated from the project. All action is accompanied by emotions, inhuman efforts, resentment, friendship, necessary and not very self-sacrifice or cunning strategies. Someone tries very hard, but the weight does not go away, someone, on the contrary, is more lazy, but at the same time he never gets into the contenders for relegation ... And, rooting for the most attractive participants, you never know what will happen in the end, win your favorite or go home, disappoint or start to respect him even more.

To be honest, I really love this show.

First, it is highly motivating. It is very difficult to lie on the couch when so many people become better, healthier, more beautiful through sweat, tears, overcoming themselves. The transformation from a helpless creature into a beautiful trained person charges you with the desire to immediately start training, take dumbbells or go to the pool.
Secondly, human passions- this is a terribly fascinating thing, like any peeping through the windows. How participants manifest themselves in various difficult situations, how their relationships develop, how they step over themselves - is shown as "excellent".
Third, even despite the fact that the director's tasks of the show are in the first place, the patterns of life of overweight people and the psychological changes that lead to weight loss are clearly visible.
We do not participate in the show and live in Russia, but can we lose weight as efficiently and effectively as the participants in "Weighted and Happy"? Yes we can. Let's decide what changes the participants go through and what you can do yourself.

1) Causes of weight gain.

There are different cases of weight gain, but most often these are two reasons:

  • a stressful situation, which is very actively "jammed" (one of the participants has a divorce and loss of business, the other has the death of a loved one);
  • and family eating style (2 brothers participated in the third season, each of which weighed more than 200 kilograms by the beginning of the training.)


If only the symptoms are treated, the disease will recur. It is very important to analyze and determine the cause of excess weight gain so that the weight does not return in the near future.
If your cause is emotional overeating - learn to find pleasure in other ways, if these are wrong eating habits - learn not to overeat or snack, the predominance of fatty and unhealthy foods - find a healthier, but no less tasty alternative.

2) Pity and attitude towards oneself as weak.
It is very difficult, almost impossible to walk when you have 170 kg. Then one of the participants in the third season found a solution - she simply stopped walking, instead of this one of the few available activities, she hired a driver and began to drive to work.
And, of course, the hostility of others to full body does not add joy to life and does not make it easier. But the “I am weak” position is initially a failure, because constant self-indulgence does not make you strong, only weaker.

Replace pity with self-care, recognition of the need to devote time, effort, money to your body.

3) Recognition of the problem and responsibility.

Many fat people don't think they have a problem. Yes, overweight, you think.
“There should be a lot of a good person”, “Men are not dogs, they don’t throw themselves at bones”, “we all have a heavy bone in our family”, “these are genes” and other, other excuses. You cannot change the situation without acknowledging that it exists. You cannot become slim without recognizing your fullness. Often it is the recognition of the fact of being overweight that becomes the impetus for losing weight.
In "Weighed and Happy" this moment is shown very clearly and even cruelly. Participants of the second season were exhibited in a transparent cube in the center of Kyiv and asked the opinion of passers-by about their figure. The participants of the third season were weighed in big circle of people.
