Sergey and Sofia Kapkov named their daughter an unusual name. Sofya Kapkova, general director of the Context festival, about her favorite books

Revelations Amy Winehouse, a conspiracy of sugar producers, the secrets behind the scenes of the Paris Opera - dozens of high-profile documentary evidence and investigations are annually presented to the public at the Moscow Documentary Film Center. In five years, it has become a Mecca for everyone who is interested real life and facts. Initiator and head of the CDC Sofia Kapkova told the editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter Maria Lemesheva how she managed to make box office hits out of documentaries.

Sofya, why five years ago, when opening your own business, you chose such a difficult area for business - documentary films?

My whole life is a series of all sorts of coincidences. Fate decreed that after Moscow State University I worked for many years in information television programs, which is very close to documentaries, and periodically produced films in this genre on federal channels. At some point, my story with television ended, and I was invited to RIA Novosti (now MIA Rossiya Segodnya. - THR)- Lead the Directorate of Documentary Projects. For me it was a real challenge, and I decided to try my hand. First project - "Open Show" With Katya Gordeeva— was quite successful. After the screenings, we arranged discussions of what we saw, and then, probably, everything started to spin. But at some point, I realized that showing once a week is not enough, because the audience's interest in this genre is growing. And everything coincided - the right moment, the opportunities that opened up, the Museum of Moscow provided a platform for preferential terms where we still live. We did not reinvent the wheel, but took as an example projects that already existed abroad. In my beloved New York, there is a similar IFC Center venue (there are, however, several halls). Or in the same Singapore, for example, on the basis of the Museum of Singapore, there is just a similar cinema of intellectual cinema, where documentaries and author films are shown.

In our country, documentaries have not been in favor for a long time. Is that investigative journalism on television. But you somehow managed to attract viewers.

I would argue with you: in our country, in certain years, documentary films were quite popular. Remember the USSR - the times when, before the start of the screenings of feature films, the newsreel "Wick" was played, which was just a kind of documentary film. Plus, the Soviet film industry produced quite a lot of popular science films. I remember myself as a little girl - I really liked these films.

I agree, but you are talking about the USSR. At that time, for example, I was a fan of "Control for adults" - a series about children from the same class. But in post-Soviet times, everything has changed. I would like to deal with feature films, but you took up documentaries ...

Well, I will not exaggerate about the broad audience. Our cinema is the only one of its kind and there are only 90 seats in the hall. Since opening, 200,000 spectators have passed through our doors. And it's pretty big figure. But if, of course, we begin to compare with the indicators of feature films - "a drop in the ocean." It's good that she is.

So how did you lure the audience?

There was no hook. I decided: the format of the site should be such that it would be interesting to be there, first of all, for myself. Such is the selfish approach. I love documentary films, I watch them a lot, and I wanted people in Moscow to have the opportunity to see different films - both intellectual and "mass" (to which, by the way, our documentary filmmakers are quite skeptical), and, importantly, films should be shown in the original language (most of the pictures in the CDC come with subtitles. - THR). In general, I believe that if you do a good good deed and are truly in love with it, then the viewer will feel and appreciate it. That is why people come back to us again and again.

You yourself select pictures at the film markets. What do you focus on when you make a choice?

We try to bring to Russia films that have been noted by film critics. In this regard, we trust professionals. This is the first criterion. The second is that we try to bring works that have received good reviews from the audience, successfully “rolled”, but for some reason did not reach our country. Well, the third criterion - we show the most significant documentary film. That is, if you found time to come to our cinema once or twice a year, you saw the most important films that you definitely won’t regret.

You already have your own festival...

This is the annual Center Festival film forum, which often becomes a platform for launching our own releases. For example, this year we will present a film about a contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, which had its world premiere in January at the most prestigious independent film festival, Sundance.

For those who have not had time to visit you yet, what documentaries would you recommend?

I guess I'd mark the tape Vera Krichevskaya And Mikhail Fishman "Too much free man» because that's enough high-profile story For Russia. The children managed to show not the history of Nemtsov the politician, but rather the history of Nemtsov the man. I am glad that CDC was the distributor of this film and that, despite the theme, the screening was successful. The trilogy is also my favourite. "Russian Jews" Leonida Parfyonova. I am very proud that for the release of the first part we received the Blockbuster Award in the category "Highest Grossing Limited Film". Another film that I would like to mention - « Paris Opera» . The story is interesting because the director of the tape Jean-Stefan Bron before that, he specialized exclusively in socio-political topics and never made films about “cultural institutions”. But at some point he changed his "picture" and ended up backstage at the Paris Grand Opera. This is very interesting to watch.

You beautiful woman, leading an active lifestyle, mother of three children, and the youngest daughter is not even a year old. What is your recipe for success?

From one question, I already want to shrink into a chair or run. I am no standard ordinary person I do what I think is right. Everything is far from perfect. And, probably, it cannot be so. I was very lucky. I have wonderful children, I am proud of each of them. As they say in America: I have three “biological” children and I got two “for luck” (we are talking about the son and daughter of Sophia's husband - Sergey Kapkov - from his first marriage. - THR). What is the recipe for success? If we talk about upbringing, then, probably, this is largely genetic - there are people with a big heart. Sometimes I feel like my heart is pretty big. I grew up in a simple family. My mother is a psychiatrist, my father is a former military man, who later, when he had to support his family, began to engage in small business. As a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother. She is a biologist. As I have already noted, a lot of factors influence life, there is no ideal formula for success. On the one hand, I am a fatalist, on the other, an optimist. Therefore, if it is not very good now, it means that soon something will be much better. At the same time, I am a perfectionist with a rather demanding attitude towards myself. As a rule, I am dissatisfied with myself, I think that not very good mom, Not good good wife… And often this stupid quality does not allow me to enjoy the moment. But still I am a happy person.

Are you a tough leader?

I think it's demanding. And I'm probably not very easy to work with. But, on the other hand, with almost all the people with whom I once crossed paths at work, I had a good relationship. It's like a litmus test - people no longer need anything from you, but they write messages, come to visit, sincerely congratulate you on your birthday. When people have good memories of the time they spent on you, that's the most important thing.

Yes, I also saved the most good memories about ours with you joint work on the First Channel in information releases! By the way, does the TV experience help?

Television is in many ways both connections and acquaintances. Weight interesting people whom you meet first at work, and then they remain good friends. Plus, working on TV - especially in the information department (and I was the chief news editor) - teaches you punctuality, restraint, composure, involvement in your work.

Your husband, ex-Minister of Culture of Moscow, has done a lot for the city and for the development of the cultural life of the capital. Does he give you advice on your programs, premieres?

Sergey amazing person, very deep, subtle, with a completely unique sense of humor. He makes me laugh every day and makes me smile no matter what. Of course, I'm proud to be with him. He is my friend, support, support. The husband, of course, gives advice on all matters, although, to be honest, we try not to bring business matters home. Sergey loves documentary films, but, probably, first of all, he loves me, and documentaries and my other hobbies are already like an application. When we have premieres at the Central House of Artists, he always comes and supports us.

What exclusives will the CDC surprise you with this year?

Our most important new projectNonfiction.Film. We decided to move from offline to online and open a platform for streaming non-fiction films. We are putting maximum effort into the project, and even now I am talking about this with my eyes closed, because such shows are a rather complicated business, a completely new story for the country. Everyone, regardless of their geographic location, deserves the right to watch documentaries. Plus, we want people abroad to have the opportunity to get an idea of Russian documentary school. And on this platform, we will arrange retrospectives of iconic authors: for example, Alexey Balabanov whose films have already become national treasure new Russia.

former head Department of Culture of Moscow Sergey Kapkov and the founder of the Documentary Film Center Sofya Kapkova became parents again. First common child The couple was born back in May, but this became known only now - thanks to Sophia's interview, which was published in the new issue of HELLO!. Newborn daughter Sergei and Sophia named original name- Zoey.

For both Sergei and Sophia, Zoya became the third child. Sergey also has a daughter, Sofia, and a son, Ivan, born in marriage to TV presenter Ekaterina Grinchevskaya, and Sophia has a daughter, Anastasia, and a son, Ivan. ex-husband- politics and public figure Dmitry Gudkov.

We have big family- my eldest daughter will be 18 years old, and the youngest is five months old, - said HELLO! Sophia. I didn't have any maternity leave. We often joke that Zoe should grow up to be a ballerina, because during my pregnancy I attended the maximum number of festivals contemporary choreography.

Recall that an addition is expected in the family of Sergei and Sophia, it became known last fall at the opening of the Diana Vishneva festival "Context. Diana Vishneva", the director of which is Sophia: then the visual changes in her figure became visible to the naked eye. The wedding of Sergei and Sophia took place a year and a half earlier, in July 2015: a photo with the eloquent inscription "We did it!" The newlyweds posted on social media.

HELLO.RU congratulates Sergey and Sophia on the birth of their daughter. A long interview with Sofia Kapkova can be read in the new issue of HELLO!.

Posted on my Facebook account. True, instead of a detailed post with the details of the wedding, he posted only one photo, which depicts the newlyweds against the backdrop of one of the capital's embankments. “We did it,” Sophia wrote in the comments. Former subordinates in the department say that the wedding of the ex-boss was a surprise for them.

The couple decided to abandon the banal combination of "white cake dress and black suit". The bride sported tanned shoulders in an open blue dress holding a bouquet pink peonies. The groom, who managed to grow a beard, dressed informally: in jeans, blue shirt and a navy blue jacket. “The color of the sky and clouds seemed to be specially selected for the costumes,” wrote subscriber Kapkova in the comments to the photo.

Sergei Kapkov, one of the most famous Moscow officials, headed the Moscow Department of Culture in the fall of 2011. During the time that he held this post, he managed to significantly popularize the city's cultural institutions and parks, especially among young people. He was even called the "Minister of the Hipsters". In March 2015, he resigned, but promised to "work as Sergey Kapkov" in the future.

The ex-official then described his future intentions as follows: “I do not plan to work anywhere now.

I plan to try to compensate my family, my beloved woman, my children for the fact that for three and a half years I was actually not at home and work took up all my free time.

Therefore, I will be with my family, I will be with the children, I will be with my beloved. Almost immediately after his resignation, Kapkov set off to travel, including visiting South America. On his Instagram, he also posted photos from Cuba and Italy. On one of the cards, he hugs a curly-haired girl. “The photo is called: “guess who,” his subscribers joke.

Sofia Gudkova works as director of the Documentary Film Center. Previously worked in and on Channel One. For both Kapkov and Gudkova, this marriage was not the first. Kapkov was married to a TV presenter, they have two children: son Ivan and daughter Sonya. The divorce was finalized in the fall of 2010.

Then, in 2011, Kapkov met with TV and radio presenter Ksenia Sobchak, the novel almost ended in a wedding, but broke off in the same year.

By the way, at that time the story was actively discussed that Sobchak was allegedly trying to recapture Sobchak from Kapkov, the creator of the festival “ golden mask"And the ex-artistic director of the theater" Practice ". asked Ksenia to comment on the news about the new admirer, but she did not talk about personal life, adding that "love is the only thing in the world for which you can and should give up everything." As an informed interlocutor told Gazeta.Ru, Boyakov allegedly even called Kapkov to a conversation “like a man,” but the minister did not yield to the lady of his heart. The couple broke up a little later. In the early spring of 2012, Ksenia appeared in the company of opposition politicians.

Sofia Gudkova was married to deputy Dmitry Gudkov. The opposition politician left her with two children, falling in love with his press secretary Valeria Sushkova. According to the stories, he - already divorced - went to Cuba for the chosen one, where she allegedly went with her fiancé. IN interview Gudkov admitted to journalists that he really made an offer in Cuba, adding that Valeria by that time was going through a breakup with her chosen one. The politician came to the wedding in July 2012 with his leg in a cast - he broke it while playing football. Posing for television cameras, he, in the words, hid the plaster behind the bride's dress.

Thursday got the public talking about another upcoming high-profile wedding. She spoke about her intention to legalize relations with the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry, in an interview with the magazine about secular life Tatler Olympic champion By figure skating. The ceremony may take place on August 1 in Sochi.

“Mitya is simple, and I really like this simplicity of his.

For all his busyness, when he comes home, he manages to nail something, repair, pump up wheels, ”Navka shared in an interview.

“Everything happened surprisingly - because it should not have happened. True, it shouldn't. I resisted for a long time, understanding the complexity of the situation: there is a family, three children, and in general, all this is terrible. To be honest, I didn’t even like Peskov at first. Well, we talked, went to a restaurant a couple of times, I thought: “No, just friends.” But he did a great job - he took it with elegance and perseverance. He did everything in a clever way. It seems to be courted, but it seems not. It seems that he said that we would be together, and I called him Dmitry Sergeevich for a year. I couldn’t cross this line in any way ... I didn’t call or pick up the phone. And he managed to find me through friends. And he got his way. And rightly so - it was impossible to take me impudently, well, it’s impossible, ”Navka added in an interview with R-Sport.

Peskov, in turn, refused to confirm or deny information about the upcoming wedding. “I don’t comment on this at all, it doesn’t concern anyone,” he explained.

“Poor people. Kabakovs", "Kusama: endless worlds”, “Inhabitants of the network” - I watched these and other documentaries with pleasure at the CDC before this interview. We started our conversation with Sophia with documentary films, namely, with the Center festival, which she created five years ago. This September, he broke his own records: four thousand people attended the screenings in four days - an impressive result, especially considering that there were only 18 screenings and most of was held in the hall of the Central House of Culture for 90 people. It would seem that there is a reason to look to the future with optimism - but in reality there is little joy. Sofia, like the entire film community, is waiting for November 1 - it is on this day that it will be decided whether the festival will continue to exist. Why - explains Kapkova herself. “At first we didn’t have any festival ambitions, but we had a main partner — the Museum of Moscow. We decided that every year on the Day of the City we will make a series of special screenings of documentaries about urbanism, architecture, and life. little man in the metropolis. The plan began to be actively implemented, the films had already been selected, but according to the law, distribution certificates were required for the demonstration of films. It was then that it became clear that we needed the Center, because at that moment the festival cinema did not fall under these restrictions. So we lived beautifully for five years, but last summer a new amendment came out, and, perhaps, in the near future, absolutely all films, even within the framework of the festival, will have to have a certificate. That is, we will no longer be able to show 80 percent of our content.”

After listening to Sophia, the first thing I ask is: “Don’t you want to quit everything?” “Hands often fall, but we will not have another life. It is now difficult to engage in many educational and cultural projects. But at the same time there is wonderful people for whom we do what we do.” For such caring people, Sophia recently created the Nonfiction.film online cinema. “We thought about where we should expand, offline or online, and took a chance. This project is like poker: you have to play for a long time, nothing will work right away.” Only here in poker you can hit the jackpot, and what kind of win can you expect from the World Wide Web, where any content is easy to find for free - go figure it out. “Today on Facebook I came across a post by Dunya Smirnova, whom I love very much. She accurately formulated the problem: “Most of all, I am touched by people who freely, without chuckles of false embarrassment, write: “I’ll watch a movie when the pirates lay it out.” I absolutely agree with her - it's just indecent. We don’t say: “I’ll wait until the guard turns his back in the store and steal a pack of cheese with a head of cabbage.” Therefore, piracy must be dealt with - people must understand that any work is valuable. For example, my middle son, 12 years old, and I are waging a war on this topic. But the elders are already aware of everything and do not allow themselves such a thing.”

Kapkova also conducts online educational program in the field of modern choreography. As part of the CONTEXT festival. Diana Vishneva, the project team, together with the Arzamas platform, created a course of lectures “What is modern dance". And recently she consolidated the result with a selection of relevant films on Nonfiction: “Dancer” about Sergei Polunin, “Pina. Dance of Passion" about Pina Bausch and others. In the offline program CONTEXT. Diana Vishneva this year will also have something to see. “The Israeli dance company Batsheva will come to us,” Sofya says. – Productions by Ohad Naarin have already been in Russia, and in November we will bring his new one-act ballet"Venezuela". Ohad came up with the revolutionary language of the movement, which he called "eider".

Jacket and shirt, GUCCI; trousers and shoes, BALENCIAGA; ring, bracelet and watch are Sofia's property

Rehearsals take place in a hall without mirrors, no memorized techniques. The main component is emotions. Sophia says that it is important for her not only to represent world stars of choreography (or documentaries, as in the case of Center) in Russia, but also to promote our art abroad. This is exactly what the M.ART project founded by Kapkova is doing. “We work for everyone who is interested in Russian culture. Performances with Ksenia Rappoport and a concert by Leonid Desyatnikov have already been to London, and in December we will show “Solar Line” with Yulia Peresild there. We will go there - and also to Tel Aviv - in March with special program CONTEXT. Diana Vishneva, which included works by our and Western choreographers staged for Russian dancers. There is an interest in everything Russian in the world, and Russia is not only Pushkin and Tolstoy. We also have Ivan Vyrypaev, Kirill Serebrennikov, Vladimir Varnava and many others who I want to talk about.”

How do you manage to do everything with such a busy schedule? “And I don’t make it. For example, I do not find time for sports. Recently I even unsubscribed on Instagram from all the friends who promote healthy lifestyle life, because I realized: this feeling of guilt is already greater than me. At the very same @sofia-kapkovaofficial, you can’t find selfies, bows and secular reports: “My friend Nadya Obolentseva persuaded me to start an account. But as I had few subscribers, I still have. Probably because I don't live by it, shall we say. Instagram is akin to a documentary, only here the director is the owner of the account. He wants everyone to see how athletic, handsome, always smiling and so on. It either motivates you, or you understand: it’s not for you.” For Sofya, her projects speak better than any Instagram - and we are ready to like them all. And also cher and repost, where without them?

BALLET "VENEZUELA" (IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE FESTIVAL CONTEXT. DIANA VISHNEVA), THEATER IM. STANISLAVSKY AND NEMIROVICH-DANCHENKO, NOVEMBER 5 AND 6

Let's start with a conversation about the M.ART project - tell us its background? Why are you even doing all this? What are your ambitions here? It seems as if you are trying on the figure of a modern Diaghilev, a global curator who translates all the interesting Russian culture to the West.

Six months ago, when work on the M.ART project was in progress full swing, I read the book “Sergei Diaghilev. "Russian Seasons" forever" - therefore, associations with its history arose every second. But comparing us is completely wrong: starting your own big project, he could no longer work in Russia. In addition, he was a very ambitious person. And I am not at all ambitious and, as you can see, I can still work in Russia.

And the idea was born like this: I am engaged in many cultural projects, I have to travel a lot around the world, watch, study. At some point, I encountered foreign theaters and the cinema is somehow Russian - but it is either "Three Sisters" and " The Cherry Orchard”, which I, of course, also love very much, or something for which I am a little embarrassed. Where is the new generation? Where are the Brusnikins, the performances of the Gogol Center, the young Russian choreographers? It seemed to me that there is both potential and an audience in order to bring and show all this.

you feel different attitude to our contemporary art here and abroad? And do you set for yourself global tasks related to the difficulties of translation, like all the same Diaghilev?

Let me say it again: we are not ambitious. We are in good sense niche product. We do not carry projects for millions of viewers, nor full-fledged tours. We arrange one-time events and clearly understand for ourselves that most of our audience are people who speak Russian, I understand how to work with them. But at the same time, it is important for us not to remain in this niche, but to acquaint people, regardless of their national and cultural affiliation, with the bright, interesting cultural projects created in Russia recently.

We will have about ten events a year, and about half of them are dance and music that do not need translation. Before each event, we plan to attract lecturers to explain, for example, who Leonid Desyatnikov is and why Alexei Ratmansky puts all his latest ballets to his music, what is the phenomenon of this unique domestic composer. What needs subtitles will come with them - this is a normal practice for CDC, where we show most films with subtitles.

How did you determine for yourself those types of art that are exported - why is this list not, for example, contemporary art but there is modern dance? Do you think that it is better developed in Russia?

It's simple: in order to engage in contemporary art, I have neither education nor work experience. Also, don't forget that I don't have Diaghilev's mission, I just show what is interesting to me and our curators.

Why do you think the most interesting thing in our culture has now moved to the theater? Video artists lead big theaters, the best contemporary composers write operas - and the public seems to be much more attentive to the theater than before.

Russia now produces only weapons and culture. Plus, in difficult and changeable times, it was always born a large number of amazing people who can subtly feel and reflect these changes in creativity. What else is music and dance if not a reflection of the spirit of the time?

I also think that people go into these new areas because they are willing to take risks. Sometimes there is nothing to lose.

How do you plan to combine the huge work on the M.ART project with the CDC? Kommersant-Style wrote funny about you: “He speaks quickly, thinks quickly, walks quickly.” Should I go even faster?

I don't have much time, but all the projects that I do are closely related to each other. The CDC is a factory that required a lot of attention and effort at the beginning, but now it only needs to be controlled. NonFiction.Film, an online platform for non-fiction films that we launch in April, is a continuation of the work of the CDC, it is made by the same wonderful team. The Context Contemporary Choreography Festival is a different team, and among our plans were world tours. Already went to The Hague, started tour in Russia, within the framework of the M.ART project, we will hold special screenings in London and New York. So with my work, as with everything else in the world, you just need to find the right angle of view, and it turns out that everything is connected to everything.

- Well, then I'll ask this: how many hours a day do you work and how much sleep?

I sleep little - five hours, insomnia. But I am a very organized person, I live with diaries and calendars all my life. In principle, I have no such thing as work: yesterday, for example, I watched four documentaries - two at work, one in the car, one - while my child was sleeping. Is it work? Rather, it's just life, a routine. It turns out that I just do what I'm interested in, and surprisingly, this is my job.

The CDC celebrated its fifth anniversary last year. Agree with my assumption that, thanks to the CFM, the boundaries between documentary and feature films have blurred: the same film “Dries van Noten” is shown both in you and in shopping centers?

The boundaries are really blurring, and it's a pity that many still consider documentaries to be utilitarian art for narrow-minded snobs. Documentary films can be both niche, like a film about snowboarders and for snowboarders, and vice versa: the same film "Dries" as a well-stated human history should be of interest to ordinary people who are not associated with the fashion industry. Just like this year's Oscar winner is the movie. Well, you don’t think that it will be interesting only to those who are familiar with meldonium, do you? No, this is interesting to any person anywhere in the world - non-trivially told Detective story touches every viewer.

- In pursuit of the story about fashion, I would like to ask: how important are things and fashion to you?

I don't know fashion as an industry very well. As a way of life - I'm not interested. I was on the strength of several shows of Sasha Terekhov - and then only because I love him very much. And I take things calmly: I came to Moscow at the age of 13 and managed to change 7 schools before that - when you grow up in a constant change of houses, apartments and friends, there is no attachment to things. I part with everything very easily.

- Why is the NonFiction.Film online cinema launching right now? And can it be compared to Netflix?

Any comparison would be wrong, Netflix is a giant. But we have one thing in common - we believe that art should be paid for. That's why we want to make documentary films available wherever you are, but not free, taking into account that each of your viewings is an income for documentarians, a material contribution to their future projects. I even fight with my son so that he does not engage in piracy, does not download movies on the Internet. I think that downloading a movie is the same as taking someone else's bag in a restaurant or getting into someone else's car.

For me always big question how in Moscow to be a family of two budget workers with two children: their tickets to the Pushkin Museum alone will require you to spend one and a half thousand rubles. And if their budget is 40 thousand for the whole family? They simply won't be able to go to the Garage or the Conservatory later - not only on this day, but even in the coming months.

It is not customary to talk about such topics, and I do not have a ready answer. But, perhaps, even if this family goes to Pushkinsky once a year and the children will see that their parents paid this significant amount of money for entry ... I don’t think that they will perceive art differently, but perhaps this trip will be remembered more strongly. May be so. Or maybe if they could go to Pushkinsky and Garage for free, they would grow up differently. I don't have a ready answer to this question.

I would like to ask you about charitable projects- a large-scale distribution company with a film about autism "Animated Life" and your own "Beating Cancer". Do you feel that attitudes towards these issues are changing?

I don't do charity work in the way many of my friends do. I have no emotional strength and a strong core inside. Yes, we show films on not very popular topics, but Animated Life, an Oscar nominee, is, first of all, a very cool movie.

I think that the attitude is slowly but changing. You see, problems need to be discussed. I took on the Beat Cancer project seven years ago because this documentary trilogy was based on my mother's personal story. And I wanted to talk about it, because when I needed help, mostly only Western books helped. It doesn't matter what you do - cancer, autism, documentaries or the M.ART project - sincerity should come first. If you really care about what you do, then everything will work out. If you sit and think that they began to talk more about charity, and decide to do it on this wave, then no.

You misunderstood me - I didn't mean to show it at all fashion trend I just notice that talking about difficult topics has become easier. After shares in in social networks about and for example.

They definitely began to talk more - but this is because as soon as you start talking about something, the choir picks up. That's how it should be done. Don't be afraid to show and tell. For example, documentary"Monica and David" about young married couple, who is short of money, looking for new housing and work, worries about neighbors and the fact that her mother is trying to give advice. These problems are the same for everyone, but in that film the nuance is that this couple has Down syndrome. I was an adult when I saw this well-made movie, and for me it was a shock: people can live a fulfilling life in a different way. Why can't they do the same with us? I can’t run around the city screaming, why is this impossible in Russia. But I can show this film. The next day after the show, we got a call from a person who was with a child in the audience. He caught himself thinking that he had to make an effort on himself to finish watching the movie and generally start thinking about this problem. And his daughter may never have to make the effort. Because she had already seen it as a child. For her, this is the norm. I am trying to popularize charity in this sense, and these small steps should lead to the right path.

As the creator of the festival about urban culture and life modern society Center Festival I'll ask you: what would you like to change in Moscow?

For me, Moscow is a difficult city - I have lived here almost all my life, at some point there was a period of great expectations and great changes. A lot has changed for the better, but some things still have to change. For example, I can't stand being stuck in traffic for four hours. I have Small child and I hardly see him because I come home too late. And I would like to come home, put the child to bed, and then go to good film to a nearby cinema. But this does not work out simply because there is no cinema with an intellectual repertoire next to us. You see, a lot depends on this, and culture, in principle, depends on urbanism. Changes in Moscow now seem to have taken a different direction.

Therefore, everyone has only one thing left - to work on their project, on their family. You have to cultivate your garden and wait. I am an optimist, so I always convince myself that in the end everything will be fine.
