I won't hit myself with my knee in the back and shout that this is the best antivirus of all times and peoples, but I will say that it is good. Does its job well and doesn't bug me. At first I wanted to write instructions on how to use it, but then I thought, why? There is no desire to write “how to click the mouse”, especially since I have.
Therefore, I decided to write about some aspects that are useful to know. In general, everything works on the default settings immediately after installation.
Two versions
First of all, there are two versions of the program:
- "ESET NOD32 Antivirus" - virus protection only
- "ESET NOD32 Smart Security" - includes network security, i.e. firewall/firewall
I use Smart Security, but, in principle, if the computer is connected to the Internet through a router, there are not the oldest updates on Windows 7/8/10 and the firewall built into Windows is enabled, then you can limit yourself to the regular version. But I don’t see the point in this, even if there are no important documents on the computer. It doesn't happen much.
The difference is only in price - the option with a firewall is more expensive. But, since you can use free keys (more on that below), this factor is insignificant.
Where to get the keys for the latest version of ESET NOD32
The program is not free, though it is quite inexpensive. But you can use the antivirus legally and for free. The fact is that when you first install the program, you are given a trial (temporary, trial) key. When it expires, you need to buy a normal key. If you already have a license for the old node32, and then you installed the new version, then the username and password must be converted to the new key format, which consists of 20 characters.
