Shadow theater to print. How to make a shadow theater for children? The main thing is that the light source is behind you.

Under the shadow theater for children is usually understood not only the theater with puppets, but also the images of the shadows of animals with the help of hands. Parents can impress their child with animated pictures on the simplest wall.

History of shadow theater

Shadow theater is an art that originated many centuries ago. The richest and most eminent were fond of him, because the puppets were made by hand from fine, well-dressed camel skin. Openwork dolls, animals and birds, painted by masters in all colors of the rainbow, were expensive.

And only in the 17th century, the French realized that the mystery of the shadow theater, depicting unprecedented figures with their own hands, especially captures children, so this art has spread in just a couple of years in the form of a real role-playing game.

Do-it-yourself animal shadows

Organizing a shadow theater at home is as easy as shelling pears! There is nothing complicated in the shadows of animals, most often just two hands are enough to see a bunny, a dog or a bird.

So, how to make shadows with your own hands?

  1. You will need a light wall or any large object hung with a white sheet;
  2. Sunlight or light from a bright lamp should shine directly on the wall, and not from the side;
  3. Approach the wall in such a way that your own shadow does not fall directly on the wall;
  4. Fold your arms as shown in any of the drawings.

Do-it-yourself animal shadows can also be revived! Wiggle your fingers and your bunny will fold its ears and your bird will fly. Teach your child to draw the shadows of animals, this will develop the baby's motor skills and his spatial thinking.

The room is dark and only small rustles of the last preparations are heard, when suddenly the light comes on. It rests on the screen of a white sheet. Dad last time clears his throat as the first silhouette appears on the stage. And the story comes to life...

shadow theater is a great way to put on a magical performance, keep the kids busy and calm, develop a child's imagination, or simply put a child to bed. At the same time, the imagination of the crumbs works at 100, because in the silhouette the child will try to guess the grandmother, dog or mouse. A gentle and native voice from behind the curtains tells a story about distant (or not so) countries, about guys and animals, about good, evil and real magic itself. And all this can be done with your own hands from improvised means in just 15 minutes.

You can organize a stage for a shadow theater from an old box and cut out the silhouettes of the main characters from it, turn on the lamp and the fairy tale will come to life right before your eyes. So let's get started.

1. Making a scene

At the bottom of the old box, we outline a rectangle for the screen.

The outline does not have to be rectangular. The edges can be rounded and decorative patterns added. Thus, the box for the shadow theater will take on an absolutely magical look.

Cut out a hole.

We color this holey box (the item is optional, but it will look neater this way).

On the inside, glue a sheet of paper slightly larger than the hole in size.

2. Hero on a stick

We draw characters from a fairy tale on a sheet, but rather print ready-made templates.

We cut out the characters, stick them on cardboard of any density. Cut out the silhouettes and fix on a stick. For this, electrical tape, a glue gun or adhesive tape are suitable. I used duct tape and a glue gun just to be sure)

I used kitchen skewers, but popsicle sticks, old sticks or pencils work well too.

We are also preparing the scenery (the environment surrounding the characters). To do this, simply cut them out of cardboard of any density. The thicker the scenery, the more difficult it will be to cut it out, and the easier it will be to fix it to the screen.

3. Lifehacks

  • scenery fixing

Strips of cardboard can be fixed along the perimeter, in which it will be convenient to fix the scenery. That's it, the stage for the shadow theater is ready.

  • bottom hole

The farther the characters are from the screen, the more blurry their silhouettes appear. In order to keep the scene stable, but to have access "behind the scenes", I made a hole in the supporting wall. Thus, the characters became closer to the screen, and it became easier to control them.

  • mount heroes

Keeping all the heroes in one hand is almost impossible. Even with the "Pockmarked Hen" it was difficult. In order not to hold inactive characters in hand, we will make small cuts at the base of the stage. These cuts will hold heroes well on small skewers. If you use, for example, popsicle sticks, then the cuts will be slightly different.

4. Making a show

The do-it-yourself shadow theater is almost ready, it remains to install our design. We put the lamp behind and direct it to the screen. And then we follow the script and become directors.

For your convenience, I have prepared several templates for the very first and easy-to-stage fairy tales. And for the fairy tales "Kolobok" and "Teremok" you will find excellent texts in verse there.

Here is one of our first performances. It clearly shows how difficult it was to manage the characters before.

Have a magical evening!

My son and I love shadow play, it's just magic in the dark! Ever since we made it together theater Our performances take place daily. There are templates for several more fairy tales: Kolobok, Zayushkina hut, Mumiy trolls, Three little pigs, The Bremen Town Musicians, hedgehog in the fog, circus. Of course, we have already accumulated a lot of heroes, templates for the shadow theater are all coming :)) patterns, which I managed to find on the net, and at the same time fairy tales to some. Shadow theater stencils from Online magazine free tips.Tales for the theater of shadows. Download shadow theater templates.

I also want to note that black cardboard is not necessary for templates of shadow theater heroes, color and even white are suitable, the shadow gives the same!

And in order not to get confused in large numbers templates, I make every fairy tale out of cardboard different color, understandably, some are repeated :) And I keep them in different envelopes.

We also make posters for performances and tickets :)

These templates are for home theater from SHADOW THEATER at home, Along the moonlit path

I will post templates based on fairy tales:

under the mushroom

Somehow the Ant caught a heavy rain.

Where to hide?

The Ant saw a small fungus in the clearing, ran to it and hid under its hat.

Sitting under a mushroom - waiting for the rain.

And the rain keeps getting stronger and stronger...

A wet butterfly crawls to the mushroom:

Ant, Ant, let me get under the fungus! I got wet - I can not fly!

Where will I take you? - says the ant. - I'm the only one here somehow fit.

Nothing! In crowded but not mad.

The Ant let the Butterfly under the fungus.

And the rain is getting worse...

The mouse runs past:

Let me go under the fungus! Water flows from me.

Where are we going to take you? There is no place here.

Move a little!

They made room - they let the Mouse under the fungus.

And the rain keeps pouring and doesn't stop...

Sparrow jumps past the mushroom and cries:

Wet feathers, tired wings! Let me dry under the fungus, relax, wait out the rain!

There is no place here.

Move over please!

Moved - Sparrow found a place.

And then the Hare jumped out into the clearing, saw a mushroom.

Hide, - shouts, - save! Lisa is chasing me!

It’s a pity for the Hare, says the Ant. -Let's push some more.

They just hid the Hare - the Fox came running.

Have you seen a rabbit? - asks.

Did not see.

Lisa came closer, sniffed:

Isn't that where he hid?

Where can he hide?

Lisa waved her tail and left.

By that time the rain had passed - the sun came out. Everyone got out from under the mushroom - they rejoice.

The ant thought and said:

How so? Previously, it was crowded for me alone under the mushroom, but now there was a place for all five!

Qua-ha-ha! Qua-ha-ha! someone laughed.

Everyone looked: a Frog sits on a mushroom cap and laughs:

Eh, you! Mushroom something...

She didn't say it and ran off.

Everyone looked at the mushroom and then guessed why at first it was crowded under the mushroom for one, and then there was a place for five.

Did you guess?

Little Raccoon

Little Raccoon was small but brave. Once Mama Enotiha said:

The moon will be full and bright tonight. Little Raccoon, can you alone go to the fast-flowing stream and fetch crayfish for supper?

“Well, yes, of course,” said Little Raccoon. “I will catch you such crayfish as you have never eaten before.”

Little Raccoon was small but brave.

At night the moon rose, big and bright.

“It’s time, Little Raccoon,” Mom said. “Go until you get to the pond.” You'll see a big tree, which is thrown across the pond. Cross it to the other side. Exactly this the best place for catching crabs.

By the light of the moon, Little Raccoon set off.

He was so happy! So proud!

Here he is - Went into the forest

All alone

First time in life!

At first he walked slowly

Soon Little Raccoon entered the dense, thick forest.

Old Porcupine rested there.

He was very surprised to see that Little Raccoon was walking in the forest without his mother.

Where are you going all alone? asked Old Porcupine.

"Aren't you scared, Little Raccoon?" asked the Old Porcupine. “You know you don’t have what I have, such sharp and long needles.

- I'm not afraid! said Little Raccoon: he was small, but brave.

At first he walked slowly.

Soon he came to a green meadow. Big Skunk was sitting there. He, too, wondered why Little Raccoon was walking in the forest without his mother.

Where are you going all alone? Big Skunk asked.

— To the swift stream! said Little Raccoon proudly. "I'm going to catch crayfish for supper."

"Aren't you scared, Little Raccoon?" Big Skunk asked. “You know, you don’t have what I have: I spray a liquid with a nasty smell, and everyone runs away.”

- I'm not afraid! said Little Raccoon and walked on.

Not far from the pond, he saw the Fat Rabbit.

Fat Rabbit was sleeping. He opened one eye and jumped up.

- Oh, you scared me! he said. “Where are you going all alone, Little Raccoon?”

- I'm going to a fast stream! said Little Raccoon proudly. "It's on the other side of the pond."

— Oo-ooo! said the Fat Rabbit. “Are you not afraid of Him?”

- Whom should I be afraid of? Little Raccoon asked.

- The one who sits in the pond, - said the Fat Rabbit. - I'm afraid of Him!

Well, I'm not afraid! said Little Raccoon and walked on.

And finally, Little Raccoon saw a large tree that was thrown across the pond.

“Here I have to cross,” Little Raccoon said to himself. “And there, on the other side, I will catch crayfish.

Little Raccoon began to cross the tree to the other side of the pond.

He was brave, but why did he meet That Fat Rabbit!

He didn't want to think about the One who was sitting in the pond, but he couldn't help himself.

He stopped and looked.

Someone was sitting in the pond!

It was he! Sat there and looked at Raccoon by the moonlight. Little Raccoon did not show that he was afraid.

He made a face.

The one in the pond also made a face.

What a face it was!

Little Raccoon turned back and ran as fast as he could. He rushed past the Fat Rabbit so fast that he was frightened again. And so he ran, ran without stopping until he saw the Big Skunk.

- What's happened? What's happened? Big Skunk asked.

- There, in the pond, sits Someone big, big! cried Little Raccoon. "I can't get through!"

“Do you want me to go with you and chase him away?” Big Skunk asked.

— Oh, no, no! said Little Raccoon hurriedly. "You mustn't do that!"

"All right," Big Skunk said. "Then take the stone with you." Only to show Him that you have a stone.

Little Raccoon wanted to bring home crayfish. So he took the stone and went back to the pond.

Maybe he's already gone! Little Raccoon said to himself. “No, He didn’t leave!”

He was sitting in the pond.

Little Raccoon did not show that he was afraid.

He raised the stone high.

The one who was sitting in the pond also raised the stone high.

Oh, what a big stone it was!

Little Raccoon was brave, but he was small. He ran as fast as he could. He ran, ran without stopping until he saw Old Porcupine.

- What's happened? What's happened? asked Old Porcupine.

Little Raccoon told him about the One who sits in the pond.

He also had a stone! said Little Raccoon. “Big, big stone.

“Well, then take a stick with you,” said Old Porcupine, “go back and show him that you have a big stick.”

Little Raccoon wanted to bring home crayfish. And so he took a stick and went back to the pond.

“Maybe He got away,” Little Raccoon said to himself.

No, He didn't leave!

He was still sitting in the pond.

Little Raccoon didn't wait. He lifted up his big stick and threatened it.

But Togo, in the pond, also had a stick. Big, big stick! And he threatened Little Raccoon with that stick.

Little Raccoon dropped his stick and ran.

He ran, he ran

Past the Fat Rabbit

Past Big Skunk

Past the Old Porcupine

Without stopping, all the way to the house.

Little Raccoon told his mother all about the One who sits in the pond.

“Oh mother,” he said, “I so wanted to go alone for crayfish! I so wanted to bring them home for dinner!

- And you will! - said Mama Raccoon. - I'll tell you what, Little Raccoon. Come back, but this time...

Don't make faces

Don't take a stone with you

Don't bring sticks!

- What should I do? Little Raccoon asked.

- Just smile! - said Mama Raccoon. - Go and smile at the One who is sitting in the pond.

- And nothing more? Little Raccoon asked. "Are you sure?"

“That's all,” Mom said. “I'm sure.

Little Raccoon was brave, and Mom was sure of it.

And he went back to the pond.

Maybe he's gone at last! Little Raccoon said to himself.

No, he didn't leave!

He was still sitting in the pond.

Little Raccoon forced himself to stop.

Then he forced himself to look into the water.

Then he forced himself to smile at the One who was sitting in the pond.

And the One who was sitting in the pond smiled back!

Little Raccoon was so delighted that he began to laugh. And it seemed to him that the One who was sitting in the pond was laughing, just like raccoons do when they are having fun.

He wants to be friends with me! Little Raccoon said to himself. “And now I can cross over to the other side.

And he ran up the tree.

There, on the bank of a fast-flowing stream, Little Raccoon began to catch crayfish.

Soon he got as many crayfish as he could carry.

He ran back up the tree across the pond.

This time, Little Raccoon waved to the One sitting in the pond.

And he waved his hand in response.

Little Raccoon ran home as fast as he could, holding his crayfish tightly.

Yes! Never before had neither he nor his mother eaten such delicious crayfish. That's what Mama Raccoon said.

“Now I can go there all by myself whenever you want!” said Little Raccoon. “I am no longer afraid of the One who sits in the pond.

“I know,” said Mama Raccoon.

“He’s not bad at all, The one who sits in the pond!” said Little Raccoon.

“I know,” said Mama Raccoon. Little Raccoon looked at his mother.

“Tell me,” he said. “Who is that sitting in the pond?”

Mom Raccoon laughed.

And then she told him.

children…”
(B.M. Teplov)

"Magic Land!" - so the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin once called the theater. The feelings of the great poet are shared by both adults and children who have come into contact with this amazing art form.

Special Role belongs to the theater in solving problems related to the upbringing and development of a preschool child. Through theatrical and gaming creativity, we can develop emotional responsiveness, intelligence in children, we develop children's communication skills, artistry, and speech activity.

AT Everyday life kindergarten, teachers use different kinds theaters: bibabo, finger, table, planar (flanelegraph or magnetic board), puppet, book theater, mask theater, etc.

I want to tell and show how to make a complex and at the same time very interesting shadow theater.

Shadow play - ancient theater. From time immemorial shadow paintings have been shown in India, China, Java and Turkey on the street at night by the light of an oil lamp.

Props required for this theatre: light source (e.g. headlamp, table lamp, filmoscope), screen with white screen, silhouette puppets on sticks.

At the first stage of work, for the manufacture of silhouettes, we need the following: a clerical knife (cutter), scissors, a hole punch for a belt, a press for eyelets, holnitens (rivets)

Silhouettes can be prepared on a computer or drawn by yourself. I found the ideas of silhouettes on the Internet, printed on a printer on regular A4 sheets

Then we paste the printed silhouettes on black paper. I immediately prepared the silhouettes of the characters and scenery.

Now these silhouettes need to be cut out. We cut out small internal details with a clerical knife, cut out the silhouettes themselves with scissors.

To prevent the silhouettes from bending, I laminated them. If this is not possible, you can use thick cardboard to stiffen the figures.

The next step is to cut out the already laminated double-sided silhouettes.

Since I really wanted the characters (silhouettes) to have moving elements (for example, they could walk), I made separate elements for the silhouettes: arms, paws, legs.
To set them in motion, the parts must be fastened in a certain way. Both wire and threads with knots at the ends are suitable for fastening. But I wanted some elegance, or something. Therefore, I connected the parts using a belt hole punch and holnitens (rivets).

With a hole punch for a belt, I punched even holes at the fastening points, choosing a diameter such that the rivets did not fly out and had free play. Previously, in the places of fastening with an awl, I marked points, aligning the paws so that in the future they would not warp. Then I connected the rivets with a press for eyelets (this press came up in size to the rivets).

Now you need to fix the sticks on the figures, for which the puppeteers will hold them. It is important for me that the theater is compact. Therefore, my sticks will be removable. The sticks for which the silhouettes will drive are barbecue sticks. Wooden, rounded shape.. We select the tubes for a cocktail with corrugation according to the size of these sticks. It is very important that the sticks in the tubes do not hang out, but sit very tightly. And we need to fix = - glue gun.

With scissors we cut off a part with a corrugation (accordion) at the tube, leaving non-corrugated tips of 1.5 cm each

Using a glue gun, I will fix the tubes on the silhouettes. There are two mounting options: horizontal (with corrugation), see on the wolf; vertical (just a piece of a tube 2 cm) see on the piglet.

To understand in the future which fasteners will be convenient for you, insert the sticks into the tubes.

Try to move the silhouettes, play with them. Basically, I liked both mounts. At the same time, I realized for which silhouettes I would use only a vertical mount, and for which I would use a horizontal mount.

Silhouette figures are ready. Now let's get to the decorations. We have already prepared the base when we glued the silhouettes of the scenery onto black paper, cut it out, laminated it and cut it out again. Now we need to strengthen the silhouettes and at the same time make a system for attaching to the screen. Glue barbecue sticks to the silhouettes on the glue gun with the pointed end down.

In order to make full use of our prepared silhouettes, we will prepare the screen. Fortunately for me, we had such a screen in our group.

We will make the main structural changes inside the screen

We need some simple tools:

On the bottom bar of the window, mark the places for plastic fasteners.

We fix plastic fasteners with nails (these fasteners are usually used in electricians, for fixing wires to walls), at the same time we will try on how the decoration sticks will enter. The mounts must be fixed firmly, not loose, otherwise all of our decorations will not be positioned correctly.

We fix the sewing hooks on the top bar of the window with the Moment super-glue. We need them to place on them such scenery as clouds, the sun, the moon, birds. We fasten the velcro tape (linden) under the hooks. It is better to fix it on a furniture stapler so that it does not come off.

On the lower bar above the mounts for decorations, we will also fix the velcro tape.

From the outside, it all looks interesting. The versatility of the manipulations carried out is that all these fastenings can be used not only for the shadow theater, but also for playing any other puppet show.

We will attach a white screen to the velcro tape. We will make the screen from a piece of calico white color. Using a tape measure, measure the width and height of the window. (tracing paper can be used instead of fabric, unfortunately, it is less reliable)

Cut out a piece of a rectangular shape, carefully process the edges. On the top and bottom we sew a velcro tape - its second half.

Now the screen can be placed on the screen. It will be held tight by the velcro tape.

Outwardly, the screen seemed boring to me now. So I decided to transform it. Curtain-blinds will decorate our theater.

Sew a pelmet from a narrow rectangular strip of fabric. The lambrequin will cover the top bar of the window.

Rectangles with finished edges will make a curtain in two parts. Both sides can be assembled. You can make a removable fibula so that the curtain can completely close the window or be open unhindered.
With a self-adhesive film to match our curtain, I glued the bottom of the screen.

For comparison: what was and what has become

Our theater is almost ready to show the performance. It remains to install the necessary light and invite the actors with the audience.

In order for the audience to see the performance, we need two light sources. As a light source, ordinary headlamps will act. They are safe and easy to use.

A theatrical performance of shadow and light is an unusual and interesting activity that will appeal to all children without exception.

Fascinating preparation, creating a scene and characters with your own hands will give a good incentive to develop imagination and become one of the brightest and kindest memories of their childhood!

How to make a Shadow Theater at home? Brashechka will tell!

Preparing the stage for the Shadow Theater

We need a light source, an impromptu screen and a place where we can feel comfortable as actors :)

As a screen a piece of wide white wallpaper remaining after the repair, a white sheet, thin paper or, in extreme cases, several sheets of paper fastened to each other in a butt, are perfect.

light source an ordinary table lamp or lamp will serve - it will need to be installed behind and slightly to the side of the screen.

Important! The smaller the screen, the thinner and more transparent it should be, and the brighter the light source needed!

Now let's decide on the size of the scene.
big stage for several children or a compact version for one participant? Decide for yourself!

Option 1. Stage of the Bolshoi Theater

Is there a bunk bed? Consider the stage of the Shadow Theater is ready! Happy owners can safely take the entire first floor for the actors. It is only necessary to fix the screen on the curtain rod and press it from below with a mattress.

Less "lucky" with furniture? No problem! :)
Hang a sheet over a doorway, arrange a "house" under a desk, or simply stretch it between two chairs!

Option 2. Compact stage for one actor

A very convenient option to store and use many times.
Cons: Only suitable for puppet shows and it will take a little longer to do it.

Take an unnecessary (or make it yourself from improvised materials) large wooden frame, A4-A5 format will be just right. Stretch a thin cloth or transparent matte paper over it, secure it with small carnations and place it on a stand. The stage is ready!

A wonderful folding stage can also be made from a large cardboard box, in the form of a window with shutters. The "glass" of the window will be the screen of our theater, and the "shutters" will provide stability to the improvised stage.

An excellent lighting option for a puppet shadow theater is a headlamp! :)

Take care to securely fasten the screen canvas.
In the future, this will greatly simplify the work of small actors!

The stage is almost ready!
Let's make a curtain for her so that our Shadow Theater looks more solemn and very, very real! :)

Scenery and figures of characters for the Shadow Theater

Folding the shadows with your hands

We have all played with hand shadows on a brightly lit wall more than once.
Let's remember a few basic shapes to start with:

Click on the picture to view or print out diagrams of how to fold the shadow of a wolf, dog, goat, rooster, hare, swan, goose or piglet with your hands.

Figure out how to portray someone else!

Figures and scenery for the Shadow Theater made of cardboard

For the puppet theater of shadows, we need pre-prepared figures and scenery. You can find and download ready-made stencil pictures for the Shadow Theater, but it is much more interesting to come up with a story and draw its characters for the Shadow Theater yourself!

Ask the child who main character his stories? Is he good or evil? What happened to him? And together you will come up with a great story!

Start with a small number of characters - two or three is enough for the first time. After practicing, you can easily move on to more complex productions :)

Scenery for the Shadow Theater it is better to make from thick cardboard, which is used for packaging household appliances. We don't want our castle or a big tree to bend under its own weight?!

Characters, drawn and / or printed on plain paper, glued onto a rigid base and cut out with scissors. As a base, thin cardboard for applications is perfect.

If you plan to use the made figures for the Shadow Theater repeatedly, we recommend that you laminate them.

Mounts for scenery and characters

Mounts are needed to control the figures without casting unnecessary shadows with your own hands.

Option 1
Use small hooks made from folded paper clips as holders for large figures and decorations.

Option 2
Split the cocktail tube at one end and glue it to the figure from the wrong side.

Option 3
Attach thin wooden or plastic sticks to the figurines with duct tape.

Staple mounts (option 1) are convenient because such decorations can simply be leaned against the screen. In this case, our little actors will not have to puzzle over where to get a few more hands in addition to the ones they already have :)

Thinking of a performance in several acts and need to change the scenery? Arrange a small but real intermission! :)

Add some color to the Shadow Theater

Color spots will add even more mystery to everything that happens! :)

Method 1.
Use a colored canvas for the screen. Shadows on a color screen are visible almost the same as on a white screen.

Method 2.
Try cutting shapes out of tinted sheets of paper, for example, for drawing with pastels. The color of the paper will show through the white screen.

Finishing touch

Here we are, ready to put on a show!
It remains quite a bit - to draw invitations and send them to friends and acquaintances. And after the performance, do not forget to have a tea party with a joint discussion of the performance you have watched!
